A worn out gasket may cause a constant faucet leak. Or, the faucet itself may be worn out, and need to be replaced. Depending on the age of the plumbing, this may require a few other modifications to the drain pipes as well. In fact, it is not unusual to find leaks in pipes or leaks in the walls when faucets have been worn out, since they often have been installed at once.
Leaks can add up to more than 10,000 gallons of water wasted in a home every year—that’s enough to fill a backyard swimming pool,” said PSC Chairperson . “They are encouraging Burlington communities to participate in Fix a Leak Week to help homeowners save money on their water and sewer bills and to help protect our water resources for future generations.”
